about THE VISION
As a noted cultural arts resource and a regional destination, WICA has reached a maximum of what it can offer the community based upon the limitations of the current facility. Despite these limitations, the board and staff of WICA remain passionately committed to the organization’s mission to provide and maintain a community arts facility, and to promote, develop and present diverse programs of entertainment, education and cultural enrichment to the
Whidbey Island
community and its visitors.
Stage Two will allow for strategic growth in the key areas of programming and education, as well as more efficient use of both staff resources and the facility. The Board of Directors, senior staff and over 200 dedicated volunteers are focused on a clear vision that will enhance WICA’s future offerings including providing a wider array of high-quality performing arts, offering the community an enhanced gathering place, and creating a comprehensive year-round education and training program for students and adults. Additionally, the expanded facility will provide for greater local artist participation, will increase activities for community volunteers, and will create new partnerships with area non-profit organizations and service groups. A successful completion of Stage Two will grant the community the full realization of this expanded vision.
