ADVANCED PRODUCTION
“Seussical the Musical”
in collaboration with Whidbey Children’s Theatre!

Join the Cat in the Hat in this fantastical, magical,
musical extravaganza directed by Martha Murphy with technique and skill building classes led by Deana Duncan and Amy Walker. Some of Dr. Seuss’ favorite characters
have been lovingly brought to life including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all the Whos of Whoville!

Students will spend the mornings learning acting skills, to work as an ensemble, to create trust, and to approach text honestly. The mornings will also feature two guest teachers: Jill Johnson, master storyteller, who will help them identify theme and find the core of the story they’re telling; and Suzanne Kellman, choreographer, will teach Movement for Actors. Afternoons are dedicated to
getting the show on its feet; students will be working
with Martha Murphy and a team of instructors in voice and movement.

Seussical the Musical offers many opportunities for actors and singers of varied levels with the goal of approaching each song with acting technique and an exploration of song interpretation.
