STAGE TWO: BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE.
In the fall of 2007, WICA launched an exciting campaign to raise just over $2.6M to expand and renovate its cramped and overburdened facility.
The Stage Two: Building for the Future capital campaign has been tremendously successful so far, in large part, based on the generosity of our local community.
We are pleased to announce that the construction project has entered its final phase!
With the support we’ve received so far, we have built new dressing rooms, the Puget Sound Energy Green Room for performers to gather before a performance, the Whidbey Telecom / Henny Family Technical Center for set construction, the fabulous Zech Hall rehearsal and performance space and the Ric Prael Administrative Offices. The actors, set builders, directors and other volunteers all greatly benefit from the added space. The staff now has room to breathe and plan. We are incredibly grateful.
As the final funds are raised, we will complete a patio and garden in front of Zech Hall with the Walk of Fame pavers, and finish exterior touches.
In late August 2010, WICA was awarded a grant from M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, supporting a total of $250,000 toward the project. The first $100,000 has been received as direct and immediately usable support. The remaining $150,000 was awarded as a challenge grant. The Foundation will match one dollar for every two dollars raised in new commitments!
So far, WICA has raised approximately $150,000 to secure the first 50% of this challenge grant.
We have only $50,000 to raise by August 31, 2012, and we are confident that, with your help, we will be at the finish line very soon!
We invite you to learn more about our progress so far, take a tour, and find out how you can play a key role in getting us to the finish line. Please contact us to find out more!
