STAGE TWO: BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE.
CAMPAIGN UPDATE!
In the fall of 2007, WICA launched an exciting campaign to raise just over $2.6M to expand and renovate its cramped and overburdened facility.
The Stage Two: Building for the Future capital campaign has been tremendously successful so far, in large part, based on the generosity of our local community. For this we are extremely grateful.
The construction project will soon enter its final phase. With the support we’ve received so far, we have built new dressing rooms, the Puget Sound Energy Green Room, the Whidbey Telecom / Henny Family Technical Center, and the fabulous Zech Hall. As the final funds are raised, we will complete the

, a patio and garden in front of Zech Hall, a new ticket office, some lobby improvements, and finishing exterior touches.
In late August, WICA received notification of a significant grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust. The Trust awarded a total of $250,000 toward the project. The first $100,000 has been received as direct and immediately usable support. The remaining $150,000 was awarded as a challenge grant. The Foundation will match one dollar for every two dollars raised in new commitments.
So far, WICA has raised approximately $150,000 to secure the first 50% of this challenge grant. This brings the total raised to date in the campaign to approximately $2.4M. A tremendous feat, but there is more work to be done.
