NOEL! THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS IN CONCERT.

A heart-warming evening of words and music to celebrate the Yuletide season. Experience the magic of this exceptional ensemble featuring flute, harps, strings, percussion and poetry.

Imagine the magic of harps, the sparkle of the flute, the richness of strings, along with enchanting poems and storytelling – all rolled into a beautiful, irresistible Christmas package. You’ll hear haunting melodies such as “At the Hour of Midnight” and “Carol of the Bells” along with familiar carols like “O Tannenbaum” and “O Holy Night.” A special treat will be Bellingham composer Barry Ulman’s impressionistic rendition of “Greensleeves,” and a fiery “Baroque Flamenco” will have you on the edge of your seat!

This unique tapestry for the senses, the interweaving of music and the spoken word, is sure to be a highlight of your Christmas season.

Renowned Northwest harpist, Jill Whitman, is joined by Whidbey Island flutist Kimberley Breilein and Emilie Whitman and Amy Muia on concert harps. Violinist Gaye Davis, violist Elizabeth Stuen-Walker, cellist Chip Bergeron and percussionist Kay Reilly round out the musical ensemble. Rosemary Scott Vohs entertains with poems and storytelling.

About the Noel Ensemble.

The Noel Ensemble performed its first concert together in December 2006, and since then has delighted audiences each Christmas season with its eclectic mix of Celtic tunes, carols, well-loved classical works and delightful poetry. Each member of the group brings extraordinary contributions and experience to the ensemble in their own right: from concert masters and first chairs to university professors, award-winning teachers, composers and choir directors. It is their wish and hope to bring the warmth and goodwill of the Yuletide season to every concert-goer. May you take home the gift of Christmas!
