THE ARTISTS.

Graham Vanderwood has been dancing since age 6. He began with tap and jazz, but discovered hip-hop at the age of 12. Graham became quite passionate for this style because of its acceptance for originality and style and excelled quickly. He began choreographing and teaching at the age 15. He has taught at The HUB, O'Meara's The Dance Studio, Westlake Dance Center , and is a current employee at Island Dance. Locally, Graham has choreographed for local High School musicals, Whidbey Children's Theatre, and WICA's "The Rocky Horror Show." He has worked with internationally recognized choreographers like Ivan Koumaev, Cameron Lee, and Daniel Cruz. His performed credentials include venues such as The Moore, Disneyland , and On The Boards. On his own, Graham produced and directed the fourth annual production of Other Moves in 2009. In February 2009, Graham founded Solid, South Whidbey's first ever hip-hop performing group with a simple goal: expand knowledge and passion for hip-hop dance on South Whidbey . Solid has performed in competitions where they have won high gold and platinum first place awards. They have also showcased their talent in the past two “Other Moves” productions presented by Island Dance, and at “Live in the Drum,” a showcase in Seattle. Graham plans to keep pursuing his dance career by moving into the commercial dance scene in Los Angeles .
