THE WICA CHAMBER SINGERS
WITH ROBERT W. PROSCH
Whidbey Island
Center
for the Arts, under the leadership of Executive Director Stacie Burgua, is proud to announce that auditions for the 2011/2012 WICA Chamber Singers will be held on Monday, July 18, at 7.00pm.
The WICA Chamber Singers, under the direction of Robert W. Prosch, is the Resident Ensemble of Whidbey Island Center for the Arts. The ensemble supports WICA programming and provides opportunities for select, auditioned vocalists to promote, develop, and present diverse choral programs for entertainment and cultural enrichment.
The Chamber Singers will meet weekly. Their first performance will be in “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” on December 18, 2011.
THE AUDITION PROCESS.
Part One
Begins with an individual, 5-minute audition. Singers shouls bring 16 bars of a prepared song. Following the song, the director will lead them through a series of musical activities checking range, matching pitch, and ear training.
Part Two
This is a group audition. All auditionees (and current choir members) will be lead through a series of exercises to determine blending skills and sight reading abilities.

PROLOGUES.
A Prologue is a short introduction to a Theatre Series production. Prologues introduce characters, themes, language and other background information -- preparing patrons to get the most out of the playgoing experience.
STUDENT MATINEES.
If you are an educator, and would like to arrange an afternoon field-trip to WICA -- and to have your students attend a matinee of a Family Series presentation -- we would like to make that happen!
