Since arriving on the Island and building their home in Langley, Ed thought he might have more time to pursue his theatrical ambitions. He has involved himself in many of WICA’s fund raising and theatrical production activities. Ed has taken Audition Preparation classes, participated in WICA Conservatory’s Cold Read/ Stage Read sessions and recently performed as (the Soldier) in WICA’s production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. Ed’s goal is to learn more about the entire theater production process, while studying the craft of acting in WICA’s friendly and supportive environment. Kathy Stanley (Twelfth Night - Stage Manager) much prefers being onstage but is willing to be part of the production team if she’s not cast. Some of Kathy’s favorite roles include Mrs. Modesto in Mrs. California, Sister Alphonsus in Tim Rarick’s This Child, Phillipa Haymes in A Murder is Announced, Darcy Snelgrave in One Flea Spare, Mabel, Lillian’s maid, in Tom Churchill’s Lillian in Limbo, Mother in A Christmas Story, the Ghost of Christmas Present in A Christmas Carol, and Mrs. Van Daan in The Diary of Anne Frank. Her one film credit as a nun in “Waiting for the Light” with Shirley MacLaine mostly ended up “on the cutting room floor” because, even after many takes, Shirley could not count back change to her! Kathy’s favorite production team performance was as costumed scene change crew in A School for Scandal where she was part of a play within the play. After time away from theater completing a MEd at
Seattle
University
, Kathy is glad to be back at WICA. She thanks the production team, cast, and crew for an amazing show.
