The Project.

The Stage Two expansion of WICA will bring the Center’s facilities into step with current operations and the future vision. The 7200 square foot expansion adds a series of elements that contribute to and address the organization’s needs and purpose. Each element is expressed architecturally as an individual building that come together as a group to make a campus. In reality, the elements are all interconnected by indoor “streets” (corridors), but the visual effect is one of an assembly of discrete parts that make a center. Key elements of the project include Zech Hall (rehearsal hall) that can double as a classroom and as community meeting space, the Whidbey Telecom/Henny Family Tech Center (scene shop), the PSE Green Room, expanded Dressing Rooms, the Schell Administrative Offices, a Ticket Office, and an enlarged lobby and public space. Additionally, the Stage Two campaign includes the development of a Board-governed cash reserve fund that will help ensure the continued financial stability of the organization.
